Hunter Safety

The Fort Atkinson Wisconservation Club provides hunters safety courses for its members and other individuals twice a year, usually one in the fall and one in spring.

We instruct the Online Internet Hunter Education + Field Day Course approved by the WI DNR. The course combines an online study portion in which the student must read, understand, and pass the chapter tests to complete. Following the completion of the online coursework the student then attends our one day Field Day in which we instruct each participant on safe and ethical hunting practices. The field day is an intense 8 hour day filled with lots of hands-on firearm instruction, tree stand safety, live fire exercises, a presentation by the local Conservation Warden and much, much more. At the end of the Field Day each student then must pass a written exam and hands-on practical exam where they must explain and demonstrate how to safely handle a firearm in a variety of situations.
